here's Zeni!

I’m at the airport in Minneapolis and I’m blogging. Really? Really. Wow.

Let me start again – I am at the Minneapolis airport ALONE. I’ve just gotten off a flight from Spokane on which I
Watched an episode of Nip Tuck (if you’ve never seen it and you like really, really trashy TV you must rent the old seasons – really superb – sorry Jeremy!)
Slept
Drank
Talked to NO ONE
I carried on with me one small bag.
I got through security quickly.
Traveling sans bambino is heavenly. He is happy with his papa, probably at the pool as I type flinging himself off the side over and over with that gleeful shriek that will begin to border on hysteria as the afternoon gets late. I’m sure I will have twinges of missing him but they will pass quickly as I am off to the Windy City to visit my bestest of friends –Lylas. She has a daughter Hayden’s age and a new baby who I haven’t yet met. I’m so excited to see her, and I will also get to see most of my aunts and uncles and cousins, who also live there. Sweet!
Oh, wait, what’s that? You were checking my blog to find out about something else? Maybe about out DAUGHTER!?

We passed. She’s ours. She is our beautiful baby in the eyes of the Ethiopian court system and in our hearts. August 6, 2008. Jeremy was quick to point out that Hayden was born on Pearl Harbor day and that we became her legal parents on the day Hiroshima was bombed. I was all “yeah, that’s right, two great examples of America bombing the crap out of people and places, Imperialist pigs…….” Jeremy gave me this look he gives me when I say things like “Why does that guy in all the paintings in the Louve have his head cut off?”
See Quaker School post. Learned nothing. Really, nada.
We are to be in Ethiopia on September 1st. Right, that’s, like, less than a month. Oh travel websites how excited I am to spend hours on you looking at flights. Oh newly renewed passport, get ready for your inaugural stamp. Jeremy, get ready to see Africa for the first time. Zeni, here we come!

A rather disorganized post I realize, can you tell I am excited and a little scattered….?
More to come, for now the promised picture:
